Divya writes. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia and an MPhil in Literary Studies from the University of Hong Kong.

Divya is working on her debut novel, RUNAWAY. It was shortlisted for the Harry Bowling Prize for New Writing and longlisted for the 2016 Deborah Rogers Writers' Award. It has also just been longlisted for the 2016 SI Leeds Literary Prize. She is the recipient of a Writing East Midlands Mentorship, a Literary Consultancy Mentorship and an Arts Council Grant.

She has published articles and stories in BBC magazines, The Times, The Bookseller and UEA anthology ‘Cheque Enclosed’. Last year, the University of Leicester commissioned Divya to write the historical story, 'An Imperial Typewriter', which she is now adapting into a short film.

Divya will be running a series of 'Beginning Fiction' writing workshops with Writing East Midlands this autumn. Booking details:
