Dr. Henry G. Jarecki has spent over five decades building successful companies across diverse industries while making a lasting impact through philanthropy. After earning his M.D. from the University of Heidelberg in 1957 and serving as Professor of Psychiatry at Yale, in 1970 he shifted his focus to business, becoming one of the pioneers of commodity futures investing in the United States.
Dr. Jarecki built The Mocatta Group into a leading global precious metals trading operation, founded the biotechnology company PsychoGenics, and created Gresham Investment Management, which managed over $8 billion in commodity investment strategies.
Beyond business success, Dr. Jarecki founded the Scholar Rescue Fund in 2002, which has provided safe haven to over 1,100 threatened academics worldwide. His humanitarian work earned him the Order of Merit from the President of Germany in 2016 and the Pardes Humanitarian Prize in Mental Health in 2023.
Now 92, Dr. Jarecki lives in New York with his wife Gloria, continuing to serve on select advisory boards while focusing on family and philanthropic endeavors.
