Dr. Edward Haberek Jr. has over 25 years’ experience as a corporate, academic, and executive leader. He serves as Director & Associate Professor of Business for Florida Institute of Technology; Aberdeen MD Education Center. He is also Adjunct Faculty at University of Maryland University College
Dr. Haberek was formerly Head of College of Academy of Interactive Entertainment in Seattle WA. He led the College in all areas of management, academics, admissions and program operations.
Dr Haberek also previously served as Academic Director/ Associate Professor of the Marketing Department at Briarwood College (now Lincoln College of New England) in Southington, CT. He also taught as an Adjunct Business Faculty Instructor at several Connecticut State Universities, Private Colleges, and Online Institutions.
Dr. Haberek’s government experience includes serving as First Selectman (i.e. Mayor) in the Town of Stonington, CT. He was elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2009, 2011, & 2013. His accomplishments during these 7 years include completing 3 designed & completed streetscapes, weathering 5 natural disasters in town, recruiting 2 new employers to the community, miles of new roads reconstructed.
Dr. Haberek’s business experience includes working for several Fortune 500 companies. His business experience also included work as Director of Sales and Marketing for North America for one of the top 200 ranking European corporations.
A continuous learner, Dr. Haberek holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Southern Vermont College, a MBA from Johnson & Wales University, Advanced Certificate in Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.) in Business Administration from Touro University International and a PhD in Management/Political Economy from International Academy of Management & Economics (I.AME) based in Makati City, PH. He has also completed coursework with Harvard, University of Notre Dame, and Tsinghua University (China).
Dr. Haberek is also CEO & Founder of GetFortitude LLC, a certified Transformation Coach and Personal Trainer, competitive Master’s Natural Bodybuilder and enjoys travel, writing, blogging, and avid informational junkie.
