Student in Lawrence, Kansas
Originally from Edmond, Oklahoma, I currently work at the University of Kansas Career Center as the Kansas Work Study Coordinator. In this position, I am tasked with maintaining the program's annual budget and allocating it appropriately throughout the year to local employers looking to hire part-time student employees. It’s my job to assist in the part-time employment of KU students in jobs or positions that will further their work experience and prepare students for a career in their desired field.
When I am not at the UCC, I can be found around campus, but mostly in the library as I am working towards my Bachelors of Science in Accounting and plan to pursue my Masters of Accounting beginning in the Fall of 2017. On campus, I am involved in the School of Business as a peer mentor where I mentor incoming freshmen during their transition to KU. In addition, I am involved in the Business Honors Program, which has allowed me to engage in challenging coursework and work with companies such as Johnny's Tavern and Kroger to engineer strategic business solutions.
In my free time, I enjoy photography, playing the piano, and spending time by Potter Lake in my hammock. If you spot an electric blue hammock out by the lake, odds are, it is me enjoying some quiet time in one of my favorite places! Rock Chalk!
