Eric Toups

Baton Rouge, La.

I was born and raised in south Louisiana. I love the food, the land, the cities, and most of all the people. I can only hope that whatever I do with my life, it will be of some kind of service to Louisiana residents.

I have a passion for knowledge of all sorts. Learning is my oldest and greatest pastime. Philosophy, history, ethics, politics; anything I can learn about humanity can do nothing but enrich my life and broaden my outlook. I can (and do) talk for hours about mankind's achievements, both physical and intellectual.

Maybe that's why I'm studying to be a lawyer. The combination of law, philosophy, service, and the constant influx of knowledge is very appealing to me. I attend LSU with a double major in history and mass communication as an Honors Student. I try to be a positive influence on the world around me. I volunteer in BatonRouge through VolunteerLSU, I was a reporter for LSU Tiger TV, and I'm an active member of Common Sense Action, a youth politics organization, and the LSU Mock Trial Club.
