Dr. Erik Scheme is a professional engineer and research associate at the University of New Brunswick, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Erik has over ten years of research and development experience in the private and public sectors, with an emphasis on biological signals, biometrics, and human machine interfaces. His role as the New Brunswick Innovation Research Chair is to work with medical device and technology companies, to drive innovation and build competitive advantage.
Dr. Scheme is cross-appointed between the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and the Dr. J. Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. As part of the Entrepreneurship department, Dr. Scheme teaches a senior Product Design and Development course focused on developing essential design, business, entrepreneurial, and management skills through experiential learning.
