Erin Marie Joyce

A veteran of the news media industry, trained as a poll watcher/elections officer, Erin Marie Joyce works with leadership and grassroots groups to help publicize often-overlooked facts about election management and extend the public’s knowledge of critical issues in election integrity.

She also volunteers as administrator for Electoral Process Education Corporation (EPEC.info), a 501 c (3), tech-focused nonprofit charity that promotes voter participation and election technology best practices.

As a communications director, researcher, and writer, Erin has been responsible for content and communications for the Consumer Product Safety Commission, NBC Digital (in partnership with Procter & Gamble), American Express (in partnership with Federated Media).

She led real-time news and in-depth coverage of major events ranging from 9/11 and the recovery of the region’s technology startup sector, to “Super Storm” Sandy’s impact on critical infrastructure in greater New York City.

As managing editor of Engineering News-Record magazine for McGraw-Hill publications, she led the digital transformation of eight publications. She trained 30 editors and journalists to take ownership of and fully optimize web content management systems, while editing award-winning content for architects, engineers, contractors, and owners in construction.

As executive editor of the InternetNews channel for Jupitermedia Corp. in New York, Erin oversaw the development of content management systems and digital products while leading real-time news coverage of regulation and policies impacting information technology, including hardware, software development, Web development, and cloud computing.

Her experience as a journalist and editor includes American Banker Magazine Group, covering internet, digital technologies, and multimedia platforms on the financial services industry. She also covered capital markets for financial wire service Bridge News (Knight-Ridder).

She has contributed to Emerging Markets (Institutional Investor), The New York Times (education and metro desks), Businessweek, and The Boston Globe newspaper. She covered energy markets as a newspaper reporter for the Portsmouth Herald in New Hampshire back when Hector was a puppy.
