Eslam Salem

Eslam Salem is an Architect who had his ‘Bachelor Degree’ from Modern Science and Arts (MSA) University & University of Greenwich (class of 2014) in parallel, with Second Honours (1st Division).

As a student he attended many workshops and won more than a competition such as he placed the 2nd at the National stage in ‘URBAN REVITALIZATION OF MASS HOUSING COMPETITION’ organised lately by the UN-Habitat, and he also published a paper about this project in the 6th international Conference of ArchCairo organized by UN-HABITAT named ‘Ibni Betak: Not Just A Backyard’ as a Co-Author with his winning team who won the 2nd prize at the national stage.

During his military service he participated in ‘URBAN INNOVATIONS Competition’ organised by Cairo University and American University in Cairo (AUC) and he won the 1st prize.

Had some experiences in different architectural firms such as a Landscape Architect at "IDD Landscaping" for 9 months -Egypt-. An Intern Architect at "Mahomud Riad Architects" -Egypt- where he participated in an international bid organized by ‘’Arquitectum.com’’ for designing a residential tower in Lima, Peru & An Intern Architect at "Battle McCarthey" -UK-.

Now he is working as an Architect at CDC-Abdel Halim, with Dr. Abdelhalim Ibrahim -an Aga Khan award Architect-, where he is working in all design phases, lately participated in the "INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF MASPERO TRIANGLE RE-PLANNING" and they were competing among 8 qualified well known firms as 'Foster + Partners', '5+UDC' and 'Dar Al-Handasah'.

Lately he was selected by The Egyptian Ministry of Culture to be one of the curators of the Egyptian pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia 2016 in it's 15th cycle, in which they will represent group of successful stories about architecture and urbanism regarding their radical transformation within the present Egyptian architectural context.
