My full name is Evan Tavares Barney and I was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 30, 1996. I moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana at a young age and also lived overseas for a period of two years outside the city of Cork in southern Ireland. I am currently 19 years old and an aspiring business major at the prestigious Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington. I am a part of the club lacrosse team here in Bloomington and I hope to become heavily involved in a variety of other organizations throughout my time here at IU.

I pride myself on my determination and work ethic. These attributes will help me to realize my dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur or corporate executive. My education at the Kelley School of Business will aptly prepare me for the challenges that come with occupying a powerful leadership position within a corporation and I have absolute faith in my ability to achieve my lofty goals. I look forward to experiencing internships and forming wide-ranging relationships that will allow me to connect and interact with my fellow businessmen and women around the world.

One of my greatest passions is travel. I have been fortunate to have already seen so much of the world at my youthful age. Over the summer, before beginning my freshmen year of college, I traveled to Southeast Asia where I spent a month living in northern Thailand. There I would spend long days providing food and water to the villagers of a large town called Udonthani. The other students and I also helped construct homes for the destitute as well as teaching English to many of Udonthani's school children. Much of our time was also spent at several local orphanages to provide entertainment to the children and to help in the construction of a playground for the long-term enjoyment of the orphaned children. During this trip, I discovered a lot about myself including a flame of determination that someday I would be able to change the world for the better through my business ventures.
