She is a passionate and experienced arts educator and administrator: she was a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district administrator in NYC, Detroit, Mount Vernon and Ann Arbor Public Schools; she was also an instructor at Parson's School of Design and the New School in NYC.
Dr. Collins is also an award winning director of theatrical and film productions. She is an advocate for "arts for art sake" in the public schools.
