Based in Toronto, Ontario (Canada), I'm a former techie and have been a journalist, B2B copywriter, PR storyteller and marketing strategist for 15 years. I help companies cut through the noise, crafting stories that click with copy that sticks. It often leads to increased visibility, thought leadership, funding, partnerships, and sales opportunities not to mention boosting the internal culture.
I work with leaders and companies to tell and amplify compelling stories they haven't thought about. I find the best channels to communicate, whether a white paper, special report, case study, success story, ghost written media article, a blog post series, an E-newsletter, an auto-responder, SEO webcopy or a landing page.
My focus is creativity, exuctuion and results that support your sales and marketing and promotion strategies and activitiies.
I love being around journalists, freelance writers and authors and have played both roles. I wrote and published a business career book, called Bridging the Skills Gap, after completing a joint computer science and political science degree. It taught me that any person or company, no matter how unknown, is interesting and can have their ten minutes of fame (and may more).
I've been priviledged to work with some amazing editors and journalists in Canadian, American and British media (print, radio, TV and Web). I've had clients appear in many national media in Canada as well as the New York Times, Fast Company, USA Today, the BBC, Entrepreneur and Inc. Magazine, NRP, NBC and ABC. I enjoy developing relationships with passionate bloggers and writers who love their beat.
I love my family, friends, healthy living, swimming, yoga, reading and writing, alternative and live music - more or less in that order.
I am a proud Canadian. I was born in Nairobi, Kenya. My roots are from Goa, a former Portuguese colony in the Arabian sea. Spicy food with extra chillies is my thing! Other than a short stint in the United Kingdom, I moved to Toronto when I was a wee young lad.
