At 21 Gary was performing with the leader of the famous motown touring band directed by Walter "Choker" Campbell and working with Joe Hunter. These outstanding musicians were the first to provide Berry Gordy with that sound the world knows as Motown. For the next 25 years these men taught Martin all he knows today about that special "motown" sound.
What's New with Gary Martin
Having recorded a number of songs in Detroit prior to the passing of Eddie Willis, Uriel Jones and Bob Babbitt, Gary Martin and the Funk Brothers released one of their songs in tribute to President Obama, entitled "Because of You" (available CD Baby-itunes).
