I have been involved in technology since I was 12 when I started learning to program my first IBM PC. Learning DOS from reading the manual and trying each and every command to see the results, I quickly moved on to learning programming in the form of BASIC and Pascal.

I spent my early 20s working for an interconnect company, building computers, designing and implementing networks (back when 10BASE-2 was just coming around), installing and configuring key systems and PBXs as well as alarm systems.

I shied away from technology for a couple of years, putting my efforts into learning about quality systems, ISO9000 and QS9001 certifications. It wasn't long, however, before I had the bug again and I wound up working for a young cable broadband system which was one of a handful of municipal cable systems in Georgia at the time. There I also took on the responsibility of implementing an ATM network tying all of the City's buildings together, along with providing VoIP communications over the same infrastructure. Starting as the Network Manager, I eventually became General Manager of the cable broadband system and MIS Director of the City's IT department.

CityNet, the cable broadband department of the City of Tifton, was sold to Plant Telecommunications in October 2009. I, along with the rest of the employees, transferred with the sale of the company. I stayed on as General Manager of the newly formed Plant TiftNet, Inc. until July 2012 when I was "relieved" of my duties, no explanation provided.

In June 2011, I started Adkisson Enterprises LLC for the benefit of creating an online blogging and podcasting network, Adkisson Digital (formerly Anairo Media) as well as assisting small businesses to promote themselves and their brand online with web site development and social media promotion services. I also release audio podcasts on a regular basis.

In August 2012, I published my first ebook, Podcasting: Year One. On October 27, 2012, I published my first fictional novel, Fifty and Furious: Wading Through Hell
