Educator and entrepreneur Grace Kibe is a testimony of a life of adventure that is inspired by love. A love that has driven her to work hard; so as to provide the best opportunities in life for her family, and those within her realm of influence.
Grace’s pioneering spirit is anchored on contagious passion, family, hard work and readiness to learn from people from walks of life. These are her secret ingredients to success in any venture especially when leading teams to advance into unchartered waters as was the case in Standard Chartered where she introduced Priority Banking to the Kenyan market, and later; democratizing Montessori so it would be accessible to the every mwananchi in Kenya.
Education came into the scene about eighteen years ago when she stumbled upon and fell in love with a world class education system for little children like her then five months old, Noni. Here was the best school system for her child yet inaccessible because it was reserved for the expatriates and executives with a corporate school fees package. Grace’s resilience and belief that her child and every other child has a right to access and afford world class education, led her to study early childhood education at The London Montessori Centre in the United Kingdom and later set up Bunks and Biddles Schools. This was the first affordable Montessori school of its kind in Kenya so far and has benefited over 2,000 children and still counting.
She sees an Africa that is empowered with the necessary know-how to realise the full potential of the natural and human resource within its grasp. Grace is laying a foundation for this process by giving Africa’s children the best chance at life by championing for world class education and a leadership committed to Africa’s success.
Beyond the Bunks and Biddles Schools, Grace continues to a give hand in the education sector in Gatanga Constituency, and in empowerment of Kenya through knowledge transfer as host of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation television show for entrepreneurs, Road to Success.
Grace is an avid reader, ardent lover of classical music and spends her Saturdays doing art activities with her lovely children. She is married to the love of her life and number one support, Victor and they are blessed with three wonderful children Michelle 17, Elizabeth 15 and Sophie 13.
