Grecia Figueroa is a trilingual, two-time Emmy® Award-winning journalist, public relations and communications professional based in San Diego, California. Known for her in-depth reporting and commitment to community storytelling, she has over a decade of experience in both journalism and strategic media.
Grecia began her journalism career in Los Angeles, covering diverse communities and local issues before moving on to major network reporting roles. While working as a reporter for NBC’s Telemundo in Las Vegas, she covered national political events including the 2016 Presidential Elections, the Republican and Democratic debates, and visits from former Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump. Her interviews include prominent figures such as Senator Bernie Sanders, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Senator Bob Menendez, Harry Reid, Dolores Huerta, and many others.
Born in Lima, Peru, and raised in Los Angeles, Grecia brings a deeply personal lens to the stories she tells—centered on equity, immigrant rights, and human dignity. She first discovered her love for storytelling through poetry and writing as a child, winning local competitions in Peru before emigrating to the U.S. Her passion for investigative reporting began during her time at Current TV’s Vanguard documentary series.
Since 2017, Grecia has built a successful career in public relations and marketing in San Diego, partnering with local government agencies, nonprofits, and community-based organizations. She continues to advocate for women’s rights, immigrant voices, and media equity.
“Stories are not about issues; stories are about people whose lives are being affected by those issues.”
