Greg Marston

Voice-Over Artist in Jurassic Coast, United Kingdom

Greg was born in Bristol, UK, the year Rock n’ Roll began.

Growing up in the 60’s to the sounds of the Beatles, he realised that he’d been blessed with an overabundance of music-genes!

Thus began his lifelong love of all things musical...

Migrating to Australia in the 70’s, by the end of the decade, he'd secured himself a two hour Friday night radio show with the brief “here’s a crate of new releases - oh, and bring in anything you want to play from your own record collection”!

Spinning songs from artists of that era, coupled with a back-catalogue of tunes from the previous decade or two, a “show” evolved called Time Capsule - which won the 1980 Australian Hi-Fi Magazine award.

There followed a radio career at 5 more stations in Western Australia, culminating in 1988 with his appointment as Music Director to Perth's Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Prior to this point in time, Greg landed his first professional voice-over - from that moment on, he knew what he would ideally like to do “for a living”…

In 1992, he set sail for the UK.

Upon arrival, he discovered the radio station in his hometown was owned by what was to become the biggest independent radio group in the UK at that time, and was offered the position as the imaging/branding “voice”, eventually voicing for the entire network - over thirty stations around the country.

From here, his voice-over career grew with work in the UK/Europe, Africa, Australia and the U.S., culminating in more awards at the end of the last and beginning of this century when he picked up two Sony Golds for "Sound of Station", being, at that time, the voice of the UK’s National Classical Music Network, Classic FM.

In 2006, he trekked back to Australia, built his third dedicated voice-studio and continued voicing for clients around the globe.

In November 2013, he moved to Dubai to begin a new voice-over-adventure and in late 2014, returned to Australia once more.

Greg currently lives and works in the UK.

As to the music side of his career, Greg’s formed and been in any number of bands over the past 35+ years, including a successful Jazz quintet and a six piece Rock/Pop covers band in the UK (late 90's/early 00's) and, since 2009 in Australia, he's sung up front of not one but two Jazz/Swing/Contemporary 20 piece Big Bands…
