Hanson Hosein has devoted his professional life to connecting people with emergent ideas during uncertain times.

In his 20's, he earned law and journalism degrees in Montreal, Paris and New York City, and then produced stories for NBC News in regions of conflict, winning Emmy and Overseas Press Club awards for his work in the Balkans.

Hanson devoted the next decade to telling stories through nascent digital and social media platforms. He would pioneer "backpack" journalism for both MSNBC and CBC News in the Middle East as a solo TV war correspondent. Hanson transitioned to 21st century storyteller when he created HRH Media Group with his wife Heather Hughes, producing two award-winning "Independent America" feature documentaries that were broadcast and streamed worldwide -- as well as a series of films in southern Africa for the US government.

Hanson would teach the story-centric methodology of his unique journey to others when he became Director of the Communication Leadership graduate program at the University of Washington in Seattle. In this position, Hanson was recognized as Seattle's "Most Influential" as he engaged publicly with this growing region's leaders on-camera and on-stage: from Amazon's Jeff Bezos to Starbucks' Howard Schultz. This work is captured in a permanent exhibit on innovation that he produced for the city's Museum of History and Industry, his book "Storyteller Uprising: Trust and Persuasion in the Digital Age", and through various global gatherings including TEDx, South by Southwest, Dent The Future and Japan's Ocean Symposium.

Hanson keynotes and convenes conversations for companies such as Facebook, Intel, Tableau Software and Microsoft, serving as well on a number of non-profit boards including the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and NPR station KUOW. He is especially intent on applying his decades of experience to bolstering human prosperity through trustful forms of connection -- even as he mentors a new generation of leaders.
