Editor and journalist. My current work in daily La Nación (Costa Rica) is focused on analyzing databases for in-depth research and developing news reports in the public interest.

Publications are a result of a combination of traditional investigative reporting techniques with the knowledge of statisticians, data miners, computer engineers and any other professionals whose background may serve to improve the quality of the data analysis. I am also accustomed to teamwork, as this is necessary in order to develop interactive data visualizations, web applications, storytelling, motion graphics and infographics.

Through my continuing studies, I constantly update my knowledge about the new trends affecting the industry and, therefore, have become specialized in handling databases through statistical parameters. My studies also include courses in deep web search, advanced Excel, social network management (community manager), web writing, and audio, video and photography edition.

Furthermore, I have had the opportunity to address and execute corporate communication strategies in Costa Rica and Latin America, working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams. I consider myself to be a professional with leadership to make decisions, creativity and passion.

I graduated from the Online Master’s program in Digital Journalism of University of Alcalá de Henares, Spain, in August 2013. Several months ago I also finished a specialization course in Business Statistics at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, in addition an online certification in Digital Marketing at the University of Texas Arlington.
