John Hawkins

I am ruled by my obsessions: Data Science, Apps and Travel.

I completed my PhD at the university of Queensland and spent many years working in applied machine learning, developing tools for bioinformatics research. I now work for Big Mobile Austraia developing predictive and inference technologies in the mobile media space. I am interested in the changes unfolding in media, the democratization of publishing and the massive social upheaval that is being caused by data.

Privacy, prediction and what it means to be human are themes that I regularly explore in my mind and writing.
