Holly Oberle

Chittagong, Bangladesh

I have lived and studied in Germany, Hungary, Israel and Spain, and of course, the United States. Last year, I started a new adventure in Chittagong, Bangladesh as a Teaching Fellow for the Asian University for Women in August. I taught classes in English composition, gender and women's studies, and political science. I successfully defended my PhD this past February at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. Now, I'm an Assistant Professor of Political Science at East Delta University in Chittagong, Bangladesh. I love teaching overseas, especially teaching politics in an international setting. My students learn a lot from an international professor, but more importantly, I learn a lot from them which I then incorporate into future classes.

Besides my book on directly enrolling in an overseas university, College Abroad, I'm a contributing author to an innovative ebook on blogging in the classroom, Web Writing, which was released in October of 2014. I am also a freelance writer focusing on topics related to international education, study abroad, travel and cultural learning. My work has appeared on Envisage International, The Student World, AbroadScout, FacultyLed, and Student Caring, and VegDining. I have also been interviewed about saving money by going to college abroad by College Smart Radio, Desert News, Loans.org, and the US News and World Report. I am passionate about helping others see and experience the world. Besides traveling, I love cooking vegetarian food, jogging, singing, swimming, and learning new languages as best I can. I'm addicted to public radio and I'm a political junkie.
