Ijaz Ahmad

Dr. Ijaz Ahmad, MD, FACC, founded Park Slope Cardiac & Diagnostic Center in Brooklyn, where he now serves as Medical Director, leading a practice focused on non-invasive and nuclear cardiology. His path into medicine took root long before he arrived in New York. Growing up in Gujranwala, Pakistan, he watched heart disease take a heavy toll on families who had no access to cardiac care, an experience that shaped his decision to pursue cardiology as a way of closing that gap.

After earning his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Dr. Ahmad came to the United States and completed his residency at Interfaith Medical Center, followed by a cardiology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and holds hospital affiliations with both NYU Langone Health and NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Over the years, Dr. Ahmad has expanded his practice into medically underserved parts of New York City, work he considers among the biggest leaps of his career. He also serves as an advisory member of the New York State Justice Center and remains active in the Pakistani-American community through the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee.

Through it all, he holds himself and his team to a simple standard, one drawn from the best professional advice he ever received: "Treat every patient as if they were your own family."
