"We have begun to contemplate our origins: star stuff pondering the stars." - Carl Sagan

I want to be the kind of storyteller who causes the star stuff to ponder. I yearn to use stories as a means of mutual exploration, of connection and revelation. Born and raised in San Diego, I have been embroiled in a fervent love affair with words since the time I devoured my first chapter book. I was the valedictorian of my high school class in 2009, and then began my undergraduate education at Princeton University. For the past two years I have been on a leave of absence, submerged in the sweet delirium of novel writing. My first literary endeavor, a new adult science fiction novel called Sideways into Chaos, will be the first in a series of four books called the Heat Death series. The Vimeo link for my book trailer is included below. I am returning this semester to the world of academia, majoring in anthropology with minors in film and creative writing. When I am not sequestered in some cozy corner of campus reading about ethnography and documentary film, I can be found writing/performing slam poetry, enjoying delicious salads in the dining halls, and freaking out about the Breaking Bad finale.
