Dr. Jacqueline Ryan Vickery earned a Ph.D. in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas in Denton. Her research focuses on the digital media practices of young people as they intersect with issues of identity, privacy, informal learning, community, equity, and policy. She employs ethnographic methodolgies as well as discourse analsysis and feminist media studies.
Outside of work she enjoys training for full and half marathons, exploring the world of craft beer, watching college football (Boomer Sooner!), traveling, cooking, and reading.
