Jake Delilah Friedler
Writer in New Orleans
I write essays, poems, and other things, and will one day complete my first novel. I graduated from Stanford with a degree in Comparative Literature and was awarded Honors for adapting Bacchae, an ancient Greek tragedy, into an immersive rave. I have written for n+1 as well as the Stanford Arts Review. My focus is on indigenous land struggles, white allyship, queerness, and music festivals.
I create live experiences with The Freeks. Bacchae was our largest work to-date, involving more than 60 artists and hundreds of participants. We brought realist Disney characters to life at the 2014 Frost Music & Arts Festival, staged Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus in a lakebed, and revived Stanford's psychadelic past through an improv installation called "Penny's Room" in 2013.
I am the unicorn on the left.
