America Deconstructed

Photographer, Filmmaker, and Sociological Explorations in motion. I am a Digital Nomad

Hi! My names is JT (James Todd)

The pandemic changed perspectives, changed lives, and changed the world. For many, myself included, it was a time to take stock. So I started a trans-media project that I plan on continuing for the rest of my life. I have been a “slow traveler” for years, documenting the natural world, human places, and how we co-exist.

My passion is spending weeks in a place, attempting to understand the environment, the people, and the culture. I am addicted to the diverse and the real, but I try to capture its beauty in the best light. So, I travel to new places to understand what made them (historical, cultural, ecological/geological) and where they seem to be going. Discovering, documenting, and being influenced by the world around me.

I am hooked on liminal places. I can’t get enough.

Each new place and experience is a piece of my puzzle, and I will never be finished. My view of the world slowly evolves, while the endless pieces come together and my picture comes into focus, but never completely.

This project will evolve and continue to grow over time with me. I am always looking for new friends, ideas, and collaborators; please reach out, and tell me what you think. We are all in this together.
