I've been involved in professional Web development for over 10 years, from high-iteration start-ups to large-scale enterprise and mobile applications. I love distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, API-centric design, and enjoy challenging problems which push and stretch infrastructure to it's limits, or explore new areas of interaction and human experience.

I move as a seasoned and self-motivated technical leader in my space, with ample experience in executive management of projects and teams. My primary skills involve problem domain analysis; technical communication between stakeholders; key development planning and decision making; API architect and strategist; product vision and data-driven growth; code review and developer mentoring; team coordination and resource management. I lead by example, earning authority through respect, and am always found on the front lines of the battle, shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of my team.

I believe in the art of code: beautiful, elegant and expressive syntax; agility from the bottom up; extreme programming (XP) culture; collaboration on common goals; using feedback loops to drive quality; documentation as a requirement; taking security seriously; setting the bar high as to technical expectations and 100% test coverage.

I've contributed to Open Source since 2008. I'm a core member of CakePHP, the organizer of CakeFest (annual CakePHP conference) and a speaker at international events. I'm also an author of the CakePHP 2 Application CookBook, published by Packt Publishing (ISBN 978-1-78216-008-3), as well as specifications, such as the Extended Hyper-text Transfer Protocol (XHTTP) and the Documentation Markup Language (DocML).
