Jane Fogal

Jane grew up in Georgetown, where she attended Georgetown District High School. After completing her post secondary education, Jane returned to Georgetown where she was hired as the Executive Director of the Georgetown YM-YWCA.

Jane was a Board Member for Cote Terrace Seniors Apartments and also served as Chair of the Board for 2 years.

Jane was a founding member of the Friends of the Old Seed House Garden which raised over $400,000 to create the first public Garden in Halton Hills. The Friends not only raised the funds but they also designed the Garden and oversaw the construction. Jane is still a volunteer with this group primarily as a gardener.

In 1996 she was recruited to an ad hoc committee set up by the Georgetown Hospital Board to create a plan for the Bennett Lands which were located across the road from the Hospital. Jane was the author of the final report that was accepted by the Board and is now being implimented.

The first project on the Bennett Lands was The Gallery and Jane served on the volunteer Committee that ran the project including planning approvals, financing, marketting, design, construction and sales. This was a $30 Million project to create housing for "empty nesters " in Georgetown.

Jane served on the Board of Directors for the Bennett Health Care Centre and was the Chair of the Board for 2 years.

In 1997 she was elected as a local councillor for the Town of Halton Hills. She continues in that role today and is also the Regional Councillor representing Wards 3 and 4 (Georgetown) at Halton Region.

Jane was re-elected on October 27th 2014.
