Janos Torok

Budapest, Hungary

I have a strong international background through growing up in Hungary and Austria, and having studied and worked in the US. I speak fluently English, German and Hungarian. I’ve gained work experience in the past 12 years in various industries (startup, telecom, food manufacturing and logistic, engineering, IT and business consulting) and fields (community management, user research, marketing, account management, business development and project management).

The past 2,5 years I’ve spent building a US based and angel funded startup that I’ve co-founded. Previously I’ve been part of some rapidly developing companies in the US and Hungary, and was amongst others responsible for Vodafone Hungary’s online presence and communications.

I believe in constant self-development, thus I’ve co-organised the Community Manager’s Breakfast Club in Budapest, a meetup that enables professionals from various backgrounds to build and manage communities more successfully via knowledge sharing. I’m the co-founder and co-organiser of WineBikePiqniq, an international event series with the mission to make cities around the world even more friendly. I’ve been involved with various non-for-profit foundations and communities as a volunteer member in the past that aim to push our world forward.

I’m happily married, a proud father, interested in cultures and religions and a very enthusiastic basketball player.
