Jeffrey D. Ritger
Jeff has had a wide variety of accomplishments in the clean technology space in small company, medium-sized company, finance, and consulting environments in the United States. He is currently in Shanghai exploring the Asian Smart Grid market and building an import/export business to help fund his MBA at ESADE.
In San Francisco, Jeff worked in business development for EnerNOC, a world leader in demand-side energy management and utility consulting, where he worked to integrate the marketing and sales divisions of the legacy Demand Response business with the operations of two acquisitions in commercial & institutional energy efficiency, and industrial energy efficiency, respectively. He also secured a significant portion of California market share for Demand Response solutions.
Previously, as an independent consultant in San Francisco, Jeff studied a South American coal mining & clean coal combustion venture for an equities research boutique, he did a variety of work for residential energy efficiency & water use efficiency startups, and he worked with a nonprofit that brings information and resources to cleantech and entrepreneurship student groups in universities.
Jeff previously was an Associate at Kolohala Ventures, a venture capital firm in Honolulu with a mix of public and private LPs and investment focus areas including solar energy, seawater air conditioning, and a variety of renewable liquid fuels production technologies, as well as software and biotech. He concurrently was Research Associate for the Kolohala-affiliated Green Era Corporation, which licenses emerging technologies from small companies for commercialization in Hawaii and elsewhere, and likewise assisted an angel investment network in screening new deals.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Puget Sound and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University.
