Jermey N. A. Matthews, PhD
Acquisitions Editor The MIT Press in Cambridge, Massachusetts
Welcome, reader! I've been helping scientists, engineers, and mathematicians communicate their world-changing ideas for more than a decade.
In 2005, soon after graduating with my PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park, I conducted postdoctoral research at Howard University in Washington, DCfor three years. While there, I also independently created a blog to help STEM grad students and postdocs explore alternative career options.
In 2007, I took on a new opportunity as Industry Reporter for Physics Today magazine. Two years later, I also took on the responsibility of running the Book Reviews column.
In 2016, The MIT Press offered me the opportunity to lead the company's newest publishing effort; I became the Acquisitions Editor for Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Mathematics.
This is what I do every day: support and guide scientists, and mathematicians, and professional writers, and journalists who want to write impactful https://mitpress.mit.edu/Jermey-Matthewsbooks.
If that's you, let's connect! It would be my pleasure to serve you.
