I've lived and worked on three continents and in a few different areas of science and technology. I care about innovation, excellence, and bridging gaps to make businesses successful.
Currently, I run Product Line Management globally at MRV Communications. I'm based in Israel but travel a lot.
I was born in New York, attended Harrison High School, Dartmouth College, and Harvard University. My LinkedIn is here.
In 1982 I married my wife and we have three grown children.
I pursued an academic career through 1999 and then switched to industry. On the academic side, I'm an expert in optical sciences and solid state physics. In the industry side, I work in ICT generally and more specifically, in the telecom equipment industry. I've also spent about 500 hours as an expert consultant and witness.
I've won some prizes: The Sigma Xi prize at Dartmouth, an Alon Fellowship of the State of Israel, an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship of the Federal Republic of Germany. I also won an Innocentive challenge for open-sourced research.
