Joshua T. Berglan, known globally as The World’s Mayor, is an Omni-Media Architect, bestselling author, award-winning producer, media strategist, speaker, and creator of The World’s Mayor Experience and Media Company in a Box. He is also the visionary behind The Sovereign Franchise, a creator-first media infrastructure model designed to help individuals, communities, schools, nonprofits, churches, NGOs, and emerging leaders own their stories, platforms, intellectual property, and economic future.

Before entering media, Joshua spent more than 18 years working with individuals living with complex disabilities. That season shaped the foundation of his life’s work: advocacy, communication, dignity, accessibility, human behavior, service, and the belief that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and equipped.

From there, Joshua moved into the world of medical aesthetics, skincare, beauty, product development, and medical devices. He held global distribution rights for a publicly traded skincare company and worked with brands to help create and position skincare lines, beauty products, aesthetic offerings, medical devices, and consumer-facing wellness products. This experience gave him a rare understanding of branding, distribution, product storytelling, market positioning, and the bridge between personal transformation and public trust.

That bridge eventually led Joshua into entertainment, publishing, broadcasting, and media infrastructure.

Over the last 11 years, Joshua has built a diverse body of work across books, podcasts, film, television, live broadcasting, digital media, interviews, documentaries, OTT programming, brand strategy, AI-powered workflows, websites, content systems, and creator education. His work includes 126+ IMDb credits, multiple bestselling books, international recognition, and hundreds of broadcasts and conversations centered on truth, transformation, ownership, and human dignity.

Joshua’s life and work have been forged through lived experience: addiction, homelessness, HIV, incarceration, severe trauma, neurodivergence, spiritual transformation, and radical personal accountability. Rather than hiding those scars, he has turned them into a framework for service. His message is simple: processed trauma can become intellectual property, media can become infrastructure, and a person’s story can become a system that serves others.

Today, Joshua helps creators, founders, students, churches, ministries, nonprofits, schools, NGOs, and underserved communities build sovereign media ecosystems through Media Company in a Box, certification pathways, consulting, workshops, and local media hub development. His work in Cameroon, Uganda, and beyond is rooted in one mission: helping people own their voice, own their platform, own their revenue, and own their future.
