I always describe myself as just a guy with a husband. I grew up in Central New York along the shores of Lake Ontario (in the middle of the famous snowbelt). 21 years into our marriage, my husband and I packed up our household in New York State's Mohawk Valley, sold our home and moved to the North side of Chicago. It's not a mid-life crisis, it's just the next step in our life. We love Chicago and have settled in nicely with our chosen family.

I'm a Private Pilot based at KPWK Chicago Executive Airport. I'm working on my Instrument and Commercial Ratings. My goal is to retire from my day job and become a Certified Flight Instructor.

When I'm not flying or talking about airplanes, I am a Staff Manager (though I prefer the term "Team Leader" ) and Software Engineer for a Fortune 500 company. I love working with data and making it as accessible as possible. I am very passionate about Apple products and the good things they do for the world. I believe we shouldn't use technology, we should experience technology, and that experience should always be as frictionless as possible. On the backend I'm all about Linux.

I started college way back in the 80s with the intent of becoming a music teacher. That didn't work out so well, but I knew I could let my dreams soar and be a happy geek with relative ease, so that's the path that I followed. I still sing in the shower and the car. I've stopped singing on the 'L'. It was startling too many people.
