Julio Peña III
Educator, Senior Program Director, and Tío in Brooklyn, New York
Hi, my name is Julio. I’m an Educator living in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. My passions are education, local activism, politics, movies, and comics.
I have worked in the non-profit/education sector for two decades working to provide at-risk students with an opportunity to earn their high school diploma and lead successful, independent lives.
I am an active member of my community serving on the local community board #7 as Chair of the Youth Committee and Vice-Chair of the Education Committee. I am also the Treasurer for a non-profit organization, Neighbors Helping Neighbors working to fight for tenant rights and advocacy in the neighborhood as well as on the board of directors for my co-op building.
On my off hours, I enjoy reading, movies, comics, and spending time with my niece and nephews.
