Mother, Idea Cultivator, and Project Manager in Atlanta, Georgia
I’m a dynamic storyteller, idea architect, and creative strategist, with a passion for bringing innovative visions to life. Currently, I serve as a Project Manager at MARTA, where I specialize in crafting policies that make a tangible impact. My journey has taken me through a variety of roles, from Special Projects Manager for the Cities of East Point and South Fulton to Program Manager for The Center of Excellence for Minority Women in STEM at Spelman College. There, I had the privilege of curating signature programs that celebrated the brilliance of Black women, by Black women.
I also wear many hats in the creative and nonprofit sectors. As the Public Relations Director for the Collier Writing Fellowship, I work alongside Emmy Award-winning writer Susan-Sojourna Collier to amplify the voices of emerging writers. I’m also the Director of Communications for DJs Against Hunger, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that tackles food insecurity with the power of music—think of it as partying with a purpose.
My tenure as Graduate Program Manager at Georgia State University’s School of Film, Media & Theatre allowed me to mentor and guide remarkable talents like Nicci Carr, of Geico’s “Scoop There It Is” fame, and Timothy Richardson, the lead in the critically acclaimed film “B-Boy Blues.”
Beyond my professional endeavors, I’m deeply rooted in Atlanta’s vibrant cultural scene. I’m known for hosting soulful house music events, and I proudly served as the Festival Director of House in the Park Atlanta from 2008 to 2016, a role that earned the event a City of Atlanta proclamation in 2013, declaring September 1st as House in the Park Day.
Yet, my most cherished role is being a mother to a magical daughter with dreams of exploring the cosmos as an astronaut and making her mark as a digital art influencer. Every step of my journey is inspired by her boundless creativity and ambition.
