Famous Scot's Project
Twenty years of high level photography have taken me around the world and opened doors not many are lucky enough to see through. During recovery from a life changing, and threatening illness, I realised the importance of a strong sense of community in a healthy society. 'The strength of a nation lies in its sense of community, the heart of a nation in its people and the soul of a nation in its history'. My nation of Scotland has forgotten its history of remarkable invention, endeavour and exploration. I am creating a series of photographic essays in the footsteps of Famous Scot's to bring into view the historical success of our nation. This educational resource, aimed at secondary school level, is a reminder of the challenge faced by our ancestors, Effort In=Reward Out
"Not to know what happened before you were born is to be a child forever. For what is the time of a man, except it be interwoven with that memory of ancient things of a superior age?"
