Student and Writer in Indiana
Hey, I'm Lauren Frick, a student and writing tutor at Indiana University.
I am majoring in English and Spanish, and I also have a minor in Public and Environmental Affairs.
I love writing, whether it be academic or creative. Currently, I am the main journalist for IIMHCO (International Integrative Maternity Healthcare Organization), and I take scholarly articles and make them more digestible and compact for our audience of Perinatal Health Professionals.
I also write poetry for my university's podcast, TBD. Under the pen name The Laurax (a play on Dr. Suess' book The Lorax), my poetry tends to focus on environmental issues, particularly climate change.
My favorite pastimes include reading, travel, and yoga. As an English major I read about a book a week, sometimes two. I also spent 2.5 months in Spain over the summer studying the Spanish language and Spanish culture.
I’m also passionate about animals and volunteering, and I spend a couple hours a month volunteering at a local radio station.
In the near future I hope to attend grad school and study Comparative Literature.
