Student and Teacher in Memphis, Tennessee
I am a Rhodes College senior majoring in Computer Science (CS) and minoring in Psychology. I currently work as a CS instructor for CodeCrew, and at Rhodes I work as a marketing associate for international education, and a peer tutor for CS courses.
I also volunteer a significant amount of time supporting LGBTQ+ people as president of our Gender and Sexuality Alliance and member of our administrative task force dedicated to LGBTQ+ issues. Additionally, I dedicate several hours per week to the Deaf community as an American Sign Language (ASL) teaching assistant and volunteer.
After I graduate, I am looking for PhD programs in Computer Science. My academic interests include computer science, psychology, linguistics, and Deaf studies. My work is motivated by a desire to expand equity to marginalized groups, spread compassion, and promote healthy communities.
My past research includes natural text generation expressive of fine-grain emotions. I have also researched the forces which cause systematic mixing of ASL and English. For more information on these publications, please send me a message!
