For part of my life I grew up in Florence, MS with my parents, two older sisters, and younger brother. When I was nine years old, we moved to Merrimac, MA where I had to transition into making new friends. From a very young age, I was forced to quickly adjust to a new culture and people. Moving to Massachusetts and being the third born daughter helped me to develop the many interpersonal and leadership skills I have today.
My passion for leadership has followed me throughout everything I have been a part of. In high school, I learned how to play the guitar and became the lead guitarist/vocalist for the band at my local church. I also spent most of my summers doing renovation work on various homes in impoverished communities and was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award by President Barack Obama.
After high school I chose to spend my first two years at Northern Essex Community College where I learned that I wanted to major in Business Management. After two years, I transferred to the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I am now striving to reach my next success of studying Business Management in the Isenberg School of Management.
During my free time I love reading books, going to the gym, being outdoors, and singing/playing guitar. Over this past summer I held two job positions. I worked as a server at Not Your Average Joe's and also as the Senior Sales Manager at a retail clothing store called Box and Bow in Newburyport, Ma. In everything I do, I find challenges and goals and work extremely hard in order to achieve success. In the future I am hoping to gain an internship in the field of Human Resources and achieve success by working in Human Resource Management. Through my learned leadership skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills Human Resources seems to be the perfect start to my Business Management career.
