Lilian Juma is Environmental Planning and management graduate who's recently developed passion in landscape planning and design. Travelling and visiting different parts of Kenya through volunteer work has propelled my passion to new heights in the process making me love photography even more since landscaping and photography go hand-in-hand.Nature inspires my work and with different ecological zones there are different habitats and conditions that inspires my thinking and creativity.Through the knowledge I have gained concerning world problemsrelated to natural resource exploitation and negative impacts of anthropogenicactivities, I am always shocked and surprised at some people’s denial inrelation to changes climate has undergone and continues to go through.
Few developments concerning environmental management have made itworth visiting the areas that have adopted eco- developments and enjoy thesceneries and nature which is amazing and exciting.
Ever since I learned about these things for myself, I have wantedto let other people more so young people who are the tomorrow’s future leadersas their behavior change is crucial to attainment of sustainable development. hey will be able tounderstand the need for adoption of ecofriendly technologies for developmental purposes.
I was lucky to be involved in environmental management since I wasyoung through tree planting and waste management.
During my primary education, me and my schoolmates were involvedin the maintenance of flower gardens and environment clean ups which wasdesignated to us by teacher under that program as our daily duties. Area ofresponsibility used to change every academic year.
In high school, I was agricultural student as well as member ofenvironmental club. I owned carrot farm which was part of Kenya Certificate ofSecondary Education (KCSE) exam practical.
My teen years were not wild as I’m not kind of person who is intoparties and involved in rowdy groups as I like to be in a relaxing area inorder to deliberate on my life success and failures and how to work on myweaknesses to be my strengths.
During my life as a freshman at university was somewhatintimidating but meeting new friends and experiencing new things together madeevery step of the way interesting and at time challenging. However, theseexperiences made me build on my confidence levels and improve on my social and communicationskills which have enabled me meet and work with professional people in thefield
