Lilian Okado is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Say Cheese Writers (Say Cheese Ltd), which was founded in August 2008. Originally an online freelance writing company, today Say Cheese Writers provides effective content development and inbound marketing strategies that solve the online marketing challenges of small and mid size businesses in Africa.
Lilian graduated from Moi University in 2003, with a Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Social Sciences, having specialised in Government and Public Administration. Following which, she pursued a diploma course in French, at the Alliance Française de Nairobi. In 2008, she took to online learning and was certified as a Search Engine Optimization specialist by Expert Rating, UK.
Prior to venturing into business, Ms. Okado was the Director of Training and Business Development at Action Wealth International, a UK based personal and business development training company for 2 years before which she was an independent consultant for 2 years with the same company.
To date, Lilian is involved in various community development related activities and at the drop of a hat will volunteer for a worthwhile cause. She is currently an active member of the Rotary Club of Muthaiga and to date serves in the capacity of Club President 2014/15.
Lilian is also absolutely passionate about writing and has helped many a distinguished professional both locally and internationally put their thoughts on paper. Her most recent ghost-writing work involved a manuscript on Change Management for a Vice Chancellor for a reputable University in Kenya, awaiting publishing in June 2015.
In her free time, Ms. Okado will be found at business networking forums, in a cooking, salsa, dance or guitar class, or simply writing down her random thoughts for her two personal blogs: Nothing But My Emotions and Diary Of A Clueless Mom She also loves to travel and has about 100+ countries on her bucket list.
Her dream job is in Philanthropy. She is a mom to a lovely baby girl.
