MY BACKGROUND: I have 12 years of experience in the entertainment industry, including 7 successful years spent working as a film and television Producer, as well as owning my own production company. I obtained my B.A. degree from the nation's top film and television school, the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. In 2011, while producing a food documentary, I became enthralled with what I was learning about how our food and farming systems actually work and how much is unknown/hidden from the public in the United States - especially compared to other countries (namely those in the E.U.) After the network we developed the documentary for cringed at offending their advertisers because of what the documentary would expose, I was too far in to let go of what I learned and ignore what large corporations were profiting from what they deemed to be "food." I knew I had a responsibility to make a difference for U.S. consumers. Surprisingly, this newfound calling was not surprising at all. Growing up around my family's law firm, Baker Burton & Lundy, and watching it expand, especially with its success in one of the California energy class action lawsuits, I knew embarking on the path to law school was my next move. I spent from 2011 to 2013 wrapping up my producing projects and getting ready for law school. In 2013, I was accepted to my first choice, Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA for it's Environmental Law concentration headed by Dan Selmi, and the Civil Litigation concentration headed by Gary Craig. It is my goal to use my career as an attorney to protect and better our environment, and the lives of U.S. consumers. Stay tuned, you won't want to miss this. Expected graduation: May 2016.
