Mlle. Lisi is a Core French Teacher teaching with the Limestone DSB at R.G. Sinclair Public School in Kingston, Ontario. Originally from Niagara Falls, Mlle. Lisi moved to Kingston in 2006 to complete her B.Ed degree at Queen's. She has experience teaching Kindergarten to Grade 12, and spent one year teacher English as a Second Language in South Korea.
Mlle. Lisi holds her B.A Honours from Trent University, her B.Ed from Queen's University and her Master's of Education from Queen's University. She is currently completing a B.Ed in Adult Education with Brock University. She is extremely keen when it comes to using technology in the classroom. In the past, she has enjoyed using SMARTboards and iPads in the second language classroom with her students
Mlle. Lisi enjoys working with other teachers too. If she is away from the classroom, it is usually because she is learning with other teachers about technology use in the classroom or the revised French curriculum. She also enjoys presenting new ways of engaging young language learners at workshops and conferences in the province.
As of September 2012, Mlle. Lisi began to align her Core French programming with the CEFR and teach by way of authentic tasks based on the interest of the students. Authentic tasks in Core French are valuable and purposeful to students in and outside of the classroom. They are motivating and engaging. Her classroom environment is positive and respectful. Her students are motivated by Learning Goals and know what criteria to meet in order to be successful. As a Core French teacher, Mlle. Lisi scaffolds and models language instruction When students are working in an authentic situation to complete an authentic task she is able to provide timely and effective feedback that is reflective of the students' Learning Goals.
