Madie Hanson

Hello!

My name is Madie Hanson and I am an Academic Advisor in the Undergraduate Advising Center at the University of Kansas.

I am originally from Montana, and received both my Bachelor's in Sociology and graduate Degree in Education from Montana State University. While at Montana State I worked with several offices and programs, including, including the Dean Of Students Office, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Diversity and Inclusion Student Commons, and the Office of Student Engagement!

Academically I am interested in Rural Communities, LGBTQ+ populations, and Fraternity and Sorority Life.

I love hiking, skiing, listening to podcasts, re-reading my favorite books, drinking copious amounts of coffee, and obsessing over my Mini Wheaten Terrier, Truman.

My favorite aspect of academic advising is learning about the students we serve and doing what I can to make the transition to college as smooth as possible.
