Major: B.S. in Economics, Junior

Process of Deciding on a Major:I started out in Wildlife, Fisheries and Conservation Biology. I had done Earth Science in high school and thought that Marine Biology was my calling! After my first semester, I realized that I wanted a major that dealt more directly with people. I had always wanted to help people, and Biology wasn't the avenue I wanted to pursue. Since I had no idea what I wanted to do, I switched into Open Option. Being in Open Option was amazing because it let me take a variety of classes without the pressure of being in a specific major. I took a Management class and really like it, so I switched into Business Management to see if it was the right major for me. Then I took Macroeconomics and realized that I understood EVERYTHING and loved the class. I took the plunge and changed my major to Economics!

Especially passionate about helping:I am extremely passionate about helping those in need and bettering the lives of those around me. I want to help people in any way that I can, which is why I want to join the Peace Corps!

Interests and Involvements on Campus:I am involved with my sorority on campus and have held officer and executive council positions. I am a member of Chimes Junior Honorary Society and the Greek honor's society, Order of Omega. I am a member of the University Honors Program and a member of the Economics club!
