Marc Fennell is an Australian interviewer, journalist, presenter, documentary-maker, and author. Marc has been honoured by The Webby Awards, nominated for Europe’s prestigious Rose d’Orand he’s a two-time New York Festivalsaward winner.

In 2019, Marc was named one of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians.He has worked with the BBC, Audible, Showtime, Monocle, triple j, Network Ten, ABC, SBS, Beyond Blue, Red Bull and The Sydney Opera House.

Fennell created the global hit Audible podcast It Burns. The quirky, soulful documentary about the scandal-plagued race to breed the world’s hottest chilli bolted to the top of the US Audible charts in 2019. It was honored as one of the best podcasts of the year by The Webby Awards, The Times (UK), Gizmodo & Esquire. The series was nominated for the Rose d’Or and the AIB Awards. It won a coveted James Beard Award and picked up silver at the 2020 New York Festivals Radio Awards.

Marc has hosted SBS Australia’s national current affairs programme The Feedsince 2013. His one-on-one interviews with celebrities and newsmakers like Al Gore, Tom Cruise, Julian Assange, Jennifer Lawrence have generated over 30 million online views and 3 United Nations Media Day AwardNominations.

Marc has also fronted documentaries for SBS on topics ranging from sex in Japan to survivors of ISIS torture. His recent film Hong Kong: Behind the Frontline(with director Will Reid for SBS Dateline) won Gold at the 2020 New York Festivals for International Affairs.

Marc also hosts the long-running ABCradio series Download This Show. It landed ‘Best New Podcast’ from Apple Podcasts (2012), The IT Journalism Gold Lizzie Award (2015) and Best Technology Podcast at the Australian Podcast Awards (2019)

Marc has written 2 books and can also be seen guest-hosting Network Ten’s The Project,SBS’s Insightor on top-rating ABC Radio Sydney. He is the Creative Director of the not-for-profit group Media Diversity Australia.
