Marina Khonina is a graduate student at Simon Fraser University. Their current research focuses on gender and culture in sport and dietary restraint in athletes.
Marina has worked in coaching and mentorship roles in sport and exercise nutrition and is primarily interested in behavioral aspects of nutrition, relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S), and issues specific to female athletic performance.
Marina has previously worked in cross-cultural communication, volunteer coordination, and project management roles, in addition to serving as a Russian conference interpreter and translator.
Marina has lived in Central Asia, Japan, and Turkey, and is currently based in Vancouver, BC.
