I am Senior Advisor for the Obama Foundation. My day-to-day consists of the following:

• Acts as a vital liaison between the Obama Foundation and Emerald South, enhancing economic development initiatives.
• Builds bridges and collaborations with local businesses in the Emerald South impact neighborhoods, contributing to the Presidential Center's community integration.
• Cultivates strong relationships with community leaders, businesses, and government officials to align on shared objectives.
• Delivers impactful public speaking engagements to local businesses, promoting initiatives like the Shared Purchasing Network.

Prior to my current role, I served as Vice President, Economic Development, on the External Affairs team in a Public Engagement role, focused on the Obama Foundation’s public economic impact commitments to our neighborhoods and with our civic and community organizations. I previously served as principal advisor to the Foundation Executive Leadership Team on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and was the City of Chicago's first Chief Diversity Officer.

As a veteran of business, civic and community organizations, I have a demonstrated record of success in the field of organizational change management, strategic planning and institutional advancement. I bring decades of experience in business and relationship development, non-profit governance (https://stories.mcachicago.org/speaker/marquis-miller/) and organizational leadership.
