Head of Cisco UKI Innovation Operations in Wakefield, United Kingdom
Matt Cooling is the Head of Operations for Cisco UKI's Innovation programme. Responsible for co-ordinating the operation of customer engagement, co-innovation and proof of concepts, Matt has almost ten years' experience engaging with customers, start-ups and academic to inspire creative thinking and accelerator innovation commercialisation.
Matt recently completed the opening of Cisco's second UK innovation centre, Mi-IDEA, where he led all aspects of the programme from the initial legal frameworks through to a very successful launch campaign. He is now co-ordinating the operations of the UKI innovation programmes including customer engagement, start-up support and government projects.
Matt has worked in the technology industry for over 17 years; prior to his most recent roles he spent five years helping organisations to embrace innovative products and services that transform the customer experience and business operations. He has also worked in a number of sales, technical, operational and development roles at both large companies and start-ups.
He holds a First Class BSc in Computer Science from the University of Leeds. More recently he graduated with an MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School, where he focused on topics including strategy, innovation, creativity, marketing and network thinking, and completed a research project exploring how to maximise the value of Strategic Alliances.
