Hi. I'm Matt. I believe the space between us is sacred. And I believe I was put on this planet to help people gather together to talk about the important stuff of life.

I'm a writer, speaker, social mystic, and spiritual leader dedicated to cultivating sacred human connection.

I'm the founder and Executive Director of BETWEEN, an innovative, highly inclusive global faith community and New Worshiping Community of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We invite people to embrace curiosity, conversation, and shared moments of meaning—and to discover the sacred in everyday encounters.

Professionally, I've spent much of my life helping groups grow. I own and help lead GrowMyGroup, Phired Up, and The Social Excellence Project with my friends. I've written two books for that work, spoken to audiences around the world, and spent a couple of decades watching what happens when human beings intentionally move toward one another.

I also serve as a Parish Associate with Grace Presbyterian Church and Covenant Presbyterian DTC, and on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Coalition of Douglas County.

Through all of it, I keep coming back to the same basic conviction: People gathered together around the important stuff of life can change the world.

Handshakes lead to conversations. Conversations lead to relationships. Relationships lead to collaboration. Collaboration leads to organizations.

And organizations change the world.

That's what I do.

I gather people. I grow groups. And I try to help us notice something sacred in the space between us.
